About Dr Heidi Regenass

Originally from Zimbabwe, I am a double board-certified Mayo Clinic trained physician, with more than 25 years of experience in holistic health. Having worked previously as a surgeon, I have seen the body from the inside out. I have witnessed the ravages on the body resulting from poor lifestyle choices. These promote the most common causes of disease and death today.

I am one of the few Physicians double board certified in both Plastic Surgery and Supportive/Palliative Medicine. My further specialization is in Supportive Integrative Medicine, with an emphasis on combining Western and natural interventions to promote health and healing. I work with patients dealing with chronic diseases associated with lifestyle. These include heart disease, cancer, diabetes, dementia/Alzheimer’s, autoimmune disease and depression. I endorse the science of epigenetics. This verifies that we are not the victim of our genes or heredity. Our thoughts, diet and lifestyle can alter our genes and result in health or disease.

By establishing a collaborative relationship with patients, I focus on maintaining quality of life, with optimal symptom management, even if one is approaching the end of life. This establishes a unique continuity of care that is very reassuring to patients and their loved ones. Patients are encouraged to live their best life regardless of the diagnosis, feeling as well as possible. Empowered to make the choices that are right for them.

Years ago, my father developed cancer. I was a surgeon at the time, and was not fully equipped with the specific knowledge to be able to help him in his difficult end-of-life journey. This feeling of helplessness, as his daughter, was the impetus for me to explore a better way to treat, nurture and heal. This pivotal experience led me to specialize in Supportive Integrative Medicine.

I love what I do! This is my passion and calling. It enables me to make a difference in the lives of those who are dealing with chronic illness. Helping patients feel better, stronger and empowered truly feeds my soul.P
